2023 Growth Cycle
Design for learning and teaching standard around the focus of differentiated learning around a focus on improving literacy and independent self management and independent learning - to build confident and capable learners.
Term 1 2023-
FOCUS: Junior English classroom - diffentation as students range from level to level 6 NZCR
TASKS_ analysing PAT tests to define individual needs; marking e-asTTle for the first time; learning Education Perfect - to apply to Film Vocabulary in term 2
FOCUS: building oral langauge skills - debating, drama. Drama only has 1 junior class per semester; Debating has yet to begin but 2 teams eager to go. Shakespeare Fesitival term 1- inclusive team.
FOCUS: promoting inclusivity in the classroom , kindness unit in term 1[ZINES]
Tasks - posters to print and display term 2; study "Wonder" film, encourage reading of texts from different perspectives
Te Rākau and DramaNZ Workshops
Objective - learning about Maori Theatre for new NCEA , in paritcular cultural values that underpin the texts.
My reflection "Thank you for working throught the process and valuing the relationionship building ; I think schools timetable structure and loaded curriculum pushes usto get on with the real mahi but wothout the relationship building the mahi is too often superficial and teacher driven."
